Version: Stage 4 - For Public Review

Public Review Guide

Welcome to the Guide for the Public Review for the UN/CEFACT GRID Project.

Applicability

This guide is applicable when the project is in a period of public review.

The success of the GRID design relies on learning from the perspectives of global subject matter experts, policymakers, and industry professionals.

We invite you to review the draft documentation and provide your insights to help ensure the technical foundation and governance of this directory are robust and universally applicable.

The public review period opened 22 July 2026 and closes on 21 September 2026.

The public review announcement can be seen on the UNECE environment here: https://uncefact.unece.org/spaces/uncefactpublicreview/pages/388628486/Public+Review+Global+Registry+Information+Directory+GRID

What We Are Looking For

To help our project team process feedback efficiently, please focus your review on the following areas:

  • Technical Accuracy: Are the data schemas, logical models, and technical requirements correct and feasible?
  • Policy & Governance Alignment: Does the proposed governance model align with international best practices and UN/CEFACT standards?
  • Clarity & Readability: Are there sections that are ambiguous, contradictory, or difficult to understand?

(Note: We are not currently seeking feedback on the website's visual design, color scheme, or typography).

How to Submit Your Feedback

Before submitting feedback, it is worth checking the existing review comments presented on the project GitLab issues here: https://opensource.unicc.org/un/unece/uncefact/gtr/-/issues.

For those with a UNICC GitLab account, the most direct way to raise an issue or comment on existing issues is to login and contribute directly on the issues.

For those without an account on the UNICC GitLab environment, we have provided two ways to submit your comments.

Option 1: The Review Form

This is a structured web form and makes it easier for your comments to be processed by the triage team.

If you have multiple comments across different pages, please submit a separate form for each distinct issue.

Submit Feedback via Web Form

Option 2: Pre-Formatted Email

If you prefer to use email, or if you have a large volume of feedback, you can email the project group list.

To ensure your feedback is captured by our tracking system, please use our standard template. Clicking the button below will automatically open your email client with the correct formatting.

Submit Feedback via Email

If the button above does not work with your email client, please email UNCEFACTGlobalTrustRegistry@groups.io with the subject "GTR Public Review Feedback", and include the following details for each comment: the page URL, the issue, your proposed solution, and your rationale.

What Happens Next?

Once you submit your feedback, it enters our triage process:

  1. Review: Our Triage Team reads all submissions to remove duplicates and verify the scope.
  2. Tracking: Valid feedback is converted into standardized "Issues" on our internal UNICC GitLab repository.
  3. Resolution: The project team reviews the issues, drafts the necessary changes to the documentation, and publishes the updates to the site.

All eligible issues will be published, reviewed and resolved through the project GitLab issues environment. The review is a transparent process and visible to all whether or not you have a UNICC GitLab account.

Thank you for contributing your time and expertise to the Global Trust Registry project!
